We received an email this morning regarding poor behaviour on a well watched site, please be aware of your actions and nesting birds at any sites during this time of year.
"This morning three photographers walked straight across the area where Lapwings appear to be nesting, two were dressed in camouflage clothing, one being red-brown in colour, the other had a huge lensed camera, he had short hair, receding at the front and going bald on top and wore red-tinted glasses, I shouted that they were in a bird-nesting area but they ignored me and the two continued down to the bottom fence.
The other guy walked back up into the reed where Sedge Warbler & Reed buntings seem to be nesting, I shouted at him again, he waved apologetic hand & moved away again.
I've given rough descriptions in case anyone recognizes them, there fieldcraft was non-existent"
This is always a sensitive subject at this time of year and there are many excellent wildlife photographers out there who wouldn't stand for this kind of behaviour, I don't want to give the site away because of nesting species but please guys be aware of your surroundings and be sensitive to nesting birds at this time of year.
